Interesting premise and it started strong, but it spiraled into a silly collision of crazy events, and it wasn't tied up very well at the end. Yes, pastors and their wives have a fine line to walk between ministry to the congregation and serving their own families, and I liked the way the author laid out the story, but it got sloppy fast. Annie seemed to be fighting panic attacks on the plane due to past traumatic happenings, but then they were never mentioned again. How were things resolved with Mr. Harrison and Annie's Mom? And seriously, EVERYONE showed up at *just* the right time?!?!?!I've read a couple other novellas from Ms. Moody, and now I know to avoid her works even as a kindle freebie. I am a pastor's wife. This book hit home in so many ways. It made me very grateful that, when my husband and I were hitting burnout after 20 years of ministry, we took it seriously and took steps to address it. This book showed me what could have happened to us if we hadn't dealt with the issues at hand. At times I had to stop reading, take a deep breath, and cry through the agony Annie was experiencing. On another level, I enjoyed the mystery, intrigue and suspense that was woven into the story with Michael's life. The book definitely became a page turner as the story progressed. When I finished the book I was definitely glad I had taken the time to read it.
