About book The Princess Diaries Collection 10 Books Set Meg Cabot Gift Pack (2000)

I've first read the princess diaries when I was maybe 16 years old. I read the first 6 books and thought it was one of the funniest books I've ever read. 11 years has passed since then and I found myself finishing the remaining books. At first I thought how silly I looked as a 28-year-old woman reading books about a teenager princess and all the drama that comes along with it, but as I was reading a sense of nostalgia filled me and I couldn't drop the books. I went as far as re-reading the first books. It remind me how I was as a teenager, all the excitement, whining, wild-almost-paranoid imagination, and the drama. Oh, the drama! I couldn't stop laughing at some parts, of how silly Mia (and I) was.But now setting my nostalgic feeling aside, I wouldn't consider it a substantial book, or a classic-status-worth book either. But if you are looking for a popcorn like book, the kind you consume just for the fun of it, then you're in for a good time. The Princess Diaries books by Meg Cabot are definitely one of my favourite chick literature series! Not only is Meg Cabot's writing wit+charm simply marvellous, Princess Mia has been a crazy, funny, lovely and wholesome character right from the start. There's just something about her life; her loves (oooh, Fat Louie); her ranting, presented through her journals; her shy and awkward nature. Just being a teenager! There are definitely a lot of LOL-moments in here (not to mention, some serious growing up). Besides Mia herself, there are plenty of secondary characters to enjoy reading about: Grandmere, Lilly, Lana, Tina. If you like chick literature, this is one series you should be reading/have read etc.! I have all the books and I re-read them at least once every year, yes, they're in a cult status of their very own. (The movies might have been fun to watch but they were in no way similar to the books. They were just based on the story mostly but nothing was that accurate!)P.S. Michael Moscovitz is the dreamiest guy ever! I totally have a crush on him. Always did, ever since I read the series. Mia Thermopolis + Michael Moscovitz 4EVA!
