I do like chick-lit, it is always funny, sweet and totally silly, and a girl needs silly now and again. This is the second book about Lizzie Nichols, in the last book she found her prince charming, and he is really a prince too, if one of many French ones. They are living together on 5th Avenue until she can find something with her friend Shari. She also wants to find a job working with what she loves, wedding dresses. Things do not go as she expected and she ends up living with Luke, working as a receptionist, and working free in a little shop. Not really what she wanted but she is not about to let New York chase her away. She wasn't really a blabbermouth in this one, perhaps she has learnt her lesson. Still she is too curious and she keep making seeing things that aren't there. It doesn't help that she goes a bit wedding crazy, and she barely knows the guy. But come on, it is chick-lit and the genre needs misunderstandings and embarrassing moments.I do like Lizzie, yes she is silly, has some wired ideas about little animals and men, and looses it when they talk about marriage. Ok there I didn't see the problem, break up with someone who doesn't want to get married, even though they are the love of your life. One can be in love and not married. So yes she has some ideas, and she is also only 23, what is the rush? The younger chick-lit books are always so, well you know.Luke is somewhat grey to be honest, I am not sure anymore if I want them together, but since the 3rd book is called getting hitched then I guess they live happily ever after. What I did like about this book was that it had through out it pages with paintings of different weddings dresses, gloves, what do do during the wedding, after, and a lot for a bride to be to know. All belonging to Lizzie, I guess she is working towards her wedding dress shop goal. So those were really cute. All in all a cute and funny book that took no time at all to read.Blodeuedd's Cover Corner: That is the Swedish cover, the book is green and it looks very nice and chich-litish.Reason for reading: Library bookFinal thoughts: Cute chick-lit
Ketika menutup halaman terakhir, aku bahkan tak bisa bernafas lega. Sialan, deg-degannya masih berasa, hahaha.
Do You like book Queen Of Babble In The Big City (2007)?
Not as good as Queen of Babble (#1), but still very enjoyable. Should be at least 3.5 stars. Yeahs ::* Same fun writing. Although, I didn't find myself laughing as much as I did with the first book in this series.* All these vintage clothing and wedding dress refurbishing talk has me missing my sewing machine. This series has me tailoring my shirts that just sit in my closet because they fit funny. * Shari's story twist. Saw this coming, but it was still a little shocker. * Like the new character additions, courtesy of Lizzie's two employment places.* Good cliffhanger with Lizzie's love life.Nays ::* No romance or much focus on it for Lizzie.* Lizzie spent a lot of time fantasizing over her wedding with Luke. They've only been dating for 2 months and they never see each other. He hasn't even talked about marriage. It was a little pathetic.* I missed the sweet Luke from the first book. He does a 180 (when he does show face). Is that to show that he was a sweetheart only on vacation, but now they are back in the real world? Or did the author just change him for the hell of it? Doesn't matter, I didn't like how this new Luke is portrayed.* Not digging where Lizzie and ?'s relationship is going. Never thought of ? that way. Things can get awkward fast.Plot 4 stars Cover 4 stars Writing 5 stars Originality 4 stars Characters 4 stars Romance/Chemistry 2 stars Drama / Romance ratio 80:20 Ending 4 stars Good enough to pick up again 3 stars

I found this one in a second hand bookstore and was a bit skeptical since I was no fan of the first book in this series. However, I got ill and wanted to read something light and there it was. I really liked it! The start of this book is a bit slow, but it turns out to be an entertaining book. Lizzie Nichols is a very endearing heroine. I read it from cover to cover the first time and bought the last one which I love love love. However, reading it for a second time I didn't enjoy it that much. It's pretty much an introduction to the third book so it's not a stand-alone novel since it ends with a cliffhanger. I'd read it to get the most out of the third book which is much better. As a newly engaged I also loved the wedding dress tip in each chapter.

I really loved Queen of Babble but Queen of Babble In The Big City was blah for me as well. I agree that it took me until about 3/4 of the way through for me to really get into it. I still enjoyed it, but it was a big let down compared to Queen of Babble. I mean, I don't know about you, but I knew the second she said it was a big box under the tree that it was a SEWING MACHINE. I'm also kind of mad at Luke for having proposed because I wanted something to have happened between Lizzie and Chaz. Meg disappointed me in that aspect.
