About book The One You Love (2000)

Well .. I was feeling bored a little bit, I found this book in Amazon store, and it was for free. I thought it'd be a great chance for me to get rid of my boredom, and to improve my English at the same time. This was a good novel, and I'm curious about the sequels. However, I think the story was a little bit typical. It was just as if I was watching one of Hollywood's movies - I can guess the general scenario from the beginning. Another point is that, in some parts of the novel, I felt like the characters are being so perfect; what they are doing doesn't get along with their characters. I mean, it feels like the author is forcefully making them heroic! However, generally speaking, this was a good novel, and I got benefit from its English. It was easy to read. This was a free book on Kindle (which I'm just discovering... Thank you, Holly!). It was a fun, quick read. My biggest gripe about the book is that I spent the first two-thirds of the book having that same feeling I have when I'm reading a book that's part of a series and I've missed the first book or two. The author is going for suspense, not letting us know the identity of some of the characters while describing their thoughts or actions. For some reason, it came off more irritating that suspenseful for me.

Love mindless books like this that I get lost in. Keeps you guessing what's going on...
