Pilkington writes what I call "junkfood literature." His works are not particularly deep, thought-provoking or beautiful, but they are, for the most part, fast-paced, entertaining and light enough that I keep coming back. They won't move you or stir up emotions, but they will hook you and keep you in suspense. Great beach reads.Someone To Save You was not as gripping as the first book in the Emma Holden series, but it was still a pleasure to read and held my attention to the last page. It seems like this is a likely candidate for a book 2, because there were several characters and events that never got explained. And Pilkington did say to watch for another Sam Becker book in December 2014.If you like especially realistic drama with heavy violence, etc., this is not for you. The character reactions are sometimes very forced and artificial. The characters do a lot of over-analyzing which can be tiresome. However, when I turn to Pilkington, I'm not looking for a deep, life-changing experience. I want light, entertaining junkfood drama and that's what I get.Overall, I really enjoyed this book and will be back for more of Pilkington's novels. His writing style is not for everyone, but I definitely appreciate his light-reading, fast-moving approach and am glad to incorporate his work into my rotation of pleasure reads. Someone to Save You is a fast-paced,mystery thriller. It is about a heart surgeon who rescues a family during what appears to be a suicide attempt. For Sam Becker, the heart surgeon, his heroic actions to save the family only begin a nightmare for him, one which is linked to the brutal murder of his sister, years ago. It truly keeps the reader guessing! Not only is it a good read, it's super cheap. I bought it on Amazon for my Kindle for 99 cents! Check it out if you like mysteries...only 293 pages!
Do You like book Someone To Save You (2000)?
Really good but it did get a little far fetched in the end. I enjoyed it though.
