This book absolutely delighted me. I found my self glued to the spot in the bookstore, captivated by the mind blowing creativity and gorgeous illustrations. Of course i first picked it up because of the beautiful cover and by the end of the novel I was so stunned and puzzled I spent the entirety of my dinner contemplating what I had read. The concept of the night bookmobile is one of the most original ideas I've heard of in years and the ending was quite the plot twist. It gave me chills and almost immediately wanted to read it again. I highly recommend it, especially for avid readers. There's something about this book that makes you fall in love with it. Well that was more morbid than I was expecting and definitely way more depressing. I have to disagree with Neil Gaiman on this one. I didn't care for it at all. I don't even have a good review for why. It kind of just rubs me the wrong way. The only way to be a Librarian was to do that?? Why doesn't she read other things? She's a social person? Are you sure? Too many plot holes, even for a short story.
Good but depressing. Her epilogue/afterwords helps ease that sadness.
