If you want to learn how happiness can come out of sadness then this is a story you might love to read! It tells a story about a young boy named Ben who is devastated by his fathers death. after a 9.1 earthquake shakes his uncle's house and to make it even worst a TSUNAMI rises from the ocean !!!!!! Ben uses his dead's father advice and he gets out of situations that almost impossible! This story is made for people who want tears to turn into puddles every other paragraph. This was a really fast read, and is probably at a low fourth grade reading level. It's great historical fiction for that reading level, though, and maybe even a little higher. I think I most liked the "factual information" section at the back of the book, where there was some informational text written to explain what happened during the earthquake and tsunami that claimed the lives of over 16,000 people (crazy!). I may be interested in reading more of this series after I finish some other books on my list. I would recommend this story, and probably this series, to my students.
