About book The Bombing Of Pearl Harbor, 1941 (2011)
The book “I Survived the Bombing of Pearl Harbor” was another really good book. I enjoyed reading it because the chapters were little but very entertaining. I don’t read very fast, so little chapters I can read within my ten minutes of reading time in class and actually remember what I read. Basically, in the story Danny had to move out of New York and all of the trouble there. Danny’s mom made him move to Hawaii with her. She found a good job there as a nurse at Hickam and thought they both needed a new start. Danny had no choice to stay or go; he was forced. Once they arrived in Hawaii, Danny wanted to go home because he missed his friends. He found a boat that was going back to the mainland that was leaving early morning. The Japanese had attacked the day the boat was leaving so Danny obviously wasn’t going to leave. Danny was the main character in the book. Danny’s mother was another character, but she went by “Ma” in the book. Aki was a little Japanese boy that Danny found running around outside, and Aki lead Danny to meeting Mr. and Mrs. Sudo. They were Japanese and lived in Hawaii. Mr. Sudo had drawings of Navy ships and bomber planes in his house. After the bombing of the cowardly Japanese Mr. Sudo was took to jail because of his drawings. The police thought he was part of the bombing, spying for the Japanese. The story took place where it did in real life on December 7, 1941. The Japanese caught the U.S. troops off guard, and they regretted it after the war they started. The United States won! The Japanese wanted to take all of the bomber planes and navy ships out of war. I love this book because I like reading books about war. I give this book four out of five stars just because it was a short book. I recommend this book to any boy or girl who can read. Because it’s not hard but is interesting. This book is about a boy named Danny who lived in NYC and when his best friend is hurt his mom decides to move them to Hawaii so he will get a proper education and stay out of trouble. When he gets to Hawaii he meets a little boy named and several weeks after they moved to Hawaii in the middle of the night he hears airplanes in the air and he looks out his window and realizes that their bomber planes. After he realize they are bomber they start to light up Pearl Harbour. Amazingly Danny lives through the terror of pearl harbour.

This was good but I thought the author was trying to cram too much history into 80 pages.
