Sweet clean romance with adventure and great characters. Not the overly simple recency romance I've been reading lately. This book showed a bit of the darker side with very young men who have gone to war or equally young men who live the dangerous life of a pirate or secret agent. The legal system was harsh with public hangings and horrible prisons. I loved both the main characters Jared and Elise. Hatch will hopefully write Grant's story... and I'd love to read Christian's too! I normally shy away from storys about widows with children, (I suppose I'm a one true love sort of reader) but I thoroughly enjoyed this so maybe I should be more open minded and give them a chance. Absolutely loved this swashbuckling adventure and enthralling romance story. I loved the characters and did not want it to end--Jared is perfect blend of gentleman & rogue. When I reached the last page on my Kindle, I had to have more. I went back to book one in Donna Hatch's Rogue Hearts series and had it downloaded lickety-split. I especially appreciated the excellent writing quality and depth of the plots. Thank you for a fabulous read!
