About book The Good Neighbors #3: Kind (2011)

I picked up this series on a whim while at the library this week. I hadn't read anything about the series prior to that but was intrigued by the possibility of a good faerie story.Let's start with what I enjoyed about these books: the inclusion of many different faerie folk and an art style that lent itself well to depicting such creatures.Other than this, the story was pretty predictable. I don't think anyone will be surprised by the ending. Additionally, the story was very choppy; transitions in both the text and the art were poorly done or completely lacking, which resulted in quite a few checks to make sure that I didn't miss a few pages.Overall, it's a faerie story that is true to form with some nice art to look at, but it falls short of being anything truly innovated or outstanding. A great and surprising ending to the Good Neighbors trilogy! Rue is forced to choose a side: human or faerie, but instead chooses what is best for all the people in her city: to continue Aubrey's plan to isolate the fey or remove the border and invite all to live together. Her choice decides the future for all involved, including friends, family, and loved ones. A great and unexpected ending that I thoroughly enjoyed. (14+)
