About book The Espressologist (2009)

Dang it! I was kind of exited about this because omg! It's a book about coffee! The premise sounded nice and even cool. I knew the plot was going to be match-making, teenage angst and romance in high school, or something like that. And that was alright. I was hoping to find it cute, cheesy and at least entertaining, but oh boy. Saddly, none of that happened.I hate saying bad stuff about novels, or any book in general, because I'm aware it takes a lot from the authors to create their work, and I respect that enormously, but seriously? Sometimes I wonder how some things get past editors and get to publishing houses. "The Espressologist" By Kristina Springer, was one of the books I read during the summer. I picked out this book at the library because I thought the cover looked really interesting and the tittle really drew me in. This book really did not disappoint me either. It's about a teenage girl who works at a coffee shop as a barista. She keeps this secret notebook about the personality of costumers and the drinks they ask for. One day, she decided to matchmake two costumers who she believes are literally perfect for each other. Later, her boss, who is very strict about his workers, find out about this notebook and her little experiment and decides to have a special session for Valentines day to get sales up. She becomes "The Espressologist" and becomes famous all over the country. People started flying from all around the world to see her and she becomes more and more famous. The ending is quite surprising yet sweet! I would strongly recommend this book to people who enjoy just a light read and not something you would have to think about because it is not confusing at all and just a very nice book to enjoy!:)
