Jamie Edwards works on her familiy's pumpkin farm. She's excited because her cousin Milan is coming from glamorous California to spend the summer with them. She's planning on having so much fun with her cousin...Until Milan arrives and wants nothing to do with her and seems to be stealing away everything that means anything to Jamie; her crush Danny, her parents' affection, and the coveted Pumpkin Princess title.Kristina Springer does a great job at making me like Jamie. I love Jamie's attitude and the way she's so unassuming. I also like how Ms. Springer was able to write Milan's character in such a way that even though I didn't like her very much for most of the book, I didn't end the book feeling that way. I may have even teared up once. ;)I was really craving pumpkin lattes when I finished this book! Writing reviews for books I read before joining Goodreads. This is one of my favourite books because I loved the plot, the characters and the setting. It had me connected from the first paragraph and I knew I liked Jamie instantly, which helped me love this book. When I don't like the main character it takes me a while to get into it. I think the fact that this is set on a farm made me fee more connected, because I've always loved the farm atmosphere and how you always feel like family. Can i just say that I loved how her cousin's name is Milan? Maybe I loved this book more because autumn is my favourite time of the year or that I loved Kristina Springer's The Espressologist? Maybe. But I feel this is a great and quick read for this looking for something light and fluffy and love the autumn time.Only negative i have? Why doesn't the cover feature the pumpkin patch? Still pretty though.
