About book The Edge Of Nowhere (2014)

I didn't expect to like this book as much as I did, because it started out a little slow. Then of course, the plot thickened and I needed to know the conclusion (of course!). I love mysteries, and this was pleasant to read even though I didn't recognize the traditional mystery format within it. I as the reader, like to figure out the conclusion a little ahead of the narrator, but that didn't happen for me. Apparently there are some sequels, and I want to read those because I am dying to know more about Diana (she was my favorite character). This was a solid 3 stars. I like the plot and the pace seemed to move slowly but quickly. It was a good story built around good setting. I found the main characters to be a bit whiny. The teenagers were typical teenagers dramatic teenagers. Who still says "As if" now or days. People in this city have a lot of issues that seem to be a prevalent theme in small towns. Although Becca's paranormal disability was sort of useless, it was fascinating. I imagine it will play more of a role in the future. I actually thought that she was deaf for a few hundred pages. Plot overall wrapped up pretty nicely.
