This book was hard to read, listening to Nathaniel's side of the story was fun, but reading about events that have already happened throughout the entire book was hard for me. I knew what was going to happen, when it happened, the only thing that was really new to me was right after he scared her off. Seeing what happened to him was quite eye opening and interesting. I felt bad for him. Granted I've never looked at things according to the dominant's point of view and seeing him worry over things, and trying to get things just right was also rather interesting. I think I would have enjoyed it more if I hadn't known what was going to happen, all those major events in Abby's and Nathaniel's lives during these books that it (the book) would have held my attention better. It took me over a two weeks to read this book when it normally takes me just a few days. Every time I knew something bad or unpleasant was going to happen, I just stopped, put the book down, and left it be reading something else. Granted I felt bad reading something else while I was reading this book, I couldn't help it, their pain was very real, so was their angst. Angst, I believe, was very prominent int his book. I don't know how else to explain it. I will say this, the book was worth reading, just be prepared for reading something you know you've read in a different point of view again. As I've said before, it was hard, but worth it to learn his point of view. Oh my goodness! This one was worse than the first one. The only reason I gave it 2 stars was because there wasn't a button for 1.5. Nathaniel is so selfish! At least in the first book Abby was thinking of him and his needs. He was just all on himself and his emotions. And that lie of him telling her he would never lie to her was bull!!!! He was lying the whole time. A lie of omission is still a lie. And then the people in my opinion was worried about the wrong lie. Nothing is wrong with a person admiring and watching from afar. People do it all the time and end up dating a person. NOT A PROBLEM!!!! It was not the issue. The lie he should have been worried about is not telling her how he felt about her. And the rules he made for himself so he could not be emotionally involved with her was ridiculous. A person denying himself is not self control. A person getting a hold of his emotions, thoughts, and deeds in the face of a barrage of the thing that is warranting his full attention. (I am preaching good!!! Lol.) That person would have self control. Him not kissing and not telling her how he felt was selfish. One side note I have to put in here is that I LOVE PAUL!!!!!
Do You like book The Dominant (2013)?

It's interesting to read the other side. Knowing it is the same story told from another point of view may suggest it gets to be boring - as in: I know already how this is going to end. but it is the opposite really: it is beautiful and gaining exactly because it shows what went on inside the mind of the other player. this is fascinating! so much of what seems a given turns out to be a surprise really.Just one little instance without giving too much away: at their first meeting he is at his desk, in his office and he is typing something; one may think he is busy with something important, on the contrary he is just typing nonsense to regain composure: who would have thought: a totally different approach and a totally different character from the persona we saw in the first installment. and it is the same throughout the whole book. great idea!
