About book The Discovery Of Witches (2000)

A less-skilled Diana Gabaldon meets a more mature Stephanie Meyer. I've read witch / vampire / paranormal books before and expected this one to be similar - fast-pace, cut to the chase type - but it's not. Which is ok but takes some time to get used to - about 150 pages. Also, the characters felt a little flat - I couldn't really get a sense of who they were.Still a really interesting read and looking forward to the sequels. I adore this book! I'm not kidding- I flat out adore it. I will admit that the pace right at the beginning is a little bit slow for me but it quicks up and by the time I got to the third chapter I was hooked. I started this book sometime in the late afternoon and had finished it by the next day. I don't quite know where to start with this review so I'm going to leave it here until I can form coherent thoughts :)
