About book The Denim Dom (2013)

I swore after I read "The Reluctant Dom" by Ms. Dalton, a book that blew me away and carved its name onto my very essence, that I would let enough time pass before I read anything of hers again. Yet a week later, I threw caution to the wind, and decided to scratch the itch that had been keeping me on book-alert since. I am so happy I did it.How difficult is it to write an article about a lifestyle you know nothing about? Can you pay it justice as a mere observer? Can you be true to its deeper meaning and feeling if you are not yourself immersed in it? Shayla had no idea what she was getting herself into when she decided to write an article about the practices of BDSM. What she found blew her heart and mind wide open, and gave her some insight into her ex's porn addiction. Thankfully Tony, the Dom who has agreed to hold her hand through this adventure, is more than capable to break her in without breaking her trust. And the bond that forms between them grows strong, its roots deep, its shade cooling their scorched hearts.Despite the minor editing issues and the slightly less "attentive" writing, I am deeply in love with Dalton's style, plot progression, and character development. Her portrayal of the inherent ironies of the lifestyle, the prejudices people hold due to their own personal beliefs and ignorance, as well as the different dynamics between the participants, all is beautifully presented, with care, realism and a splash of the explicit. Loved this book! Shayla leaves behind Ohio and a ex that has not only ruined her trust, but puts her $15,000.00 in debt, and ends up in Sarasota Florida. Shayla takes a job at a successful monthly magazine, and gets assigned reporting about BDSM. She finds people that are will to talk to her about the scene, get her into a local club. She gets introduced to a Dom who is a real sadist, that is also a teacher, and takes one of his classes. She decides that in order to do a real article, she needs to get know what it is like to be a submissive. She asks Tony if he will taker her on as a trainee. I won't give any more information, so I don't spoil it for you! This is one of the most realistic D/s relationships I have ever found in a book. Tony teaches Shayla to be a submissive, and is very sadistic in a real way. The book has a very happy ending.I will read this one again!

Do You like book The Denim Dom (2013)?

Another great book by Tymber Dalton but "Cardinal's Rule" and "A Lovely Shade of Ouch" are still my favorite Suncoast Society books.
