The day I stopped drinking milk is about people the author has come across, heard about or interacted with who have made an impression on her, good or bad, and gave a lesson of life. Every chapter teaches you something that one should follow. These are lessons about selflessness, honesty, simplicity, sacrifice, trust, courage, etc. The book is a reminder that we have a fair share of both good and bad experiences in our life and I would say more good than bad (even in this book most experiences were positive). Even though we tend to hang on to the bad experiences more often than the good ones. My favourite chapter is 'Shraddha' and it's about making a change and taking a stand for yourself. I am definitely going to continue reading more Sudha Murty books. Books of these kinds are bought for the content and not for writing style or for any literary satisfaction. I started reading this book for the exact reason. After finishing the book in just few hours - mind it, it is very short book - I just did not feel anything. Not tired nor happy.Mediocre writing and just a little above average collection of short stories - a.k.a real life experiences. But if someone asks me to recommend this book - I will do so for the honesty it carries and to support the heart of the book which seems to be at the right place.

Someone how doesn't know the lady and her work might consider this a work of pretension.
