CONTAINS A SPOILER:The first book was amazing! When I was part way through the second I became thoroughly annoyed because I feel I've wasted my time. Too many predicable cliches. Spoiler alert: The main character gets pregnant with her abuser's/lover's/ex-husband's baby during an "alleged dream sequence." Seriously, what woman wakes up and doesn't know she just had sex. And, so predictably she gets pregnant and agrees to "date" her evil ex-husband. Ugh, how disappointing. This series had so much potential.I cannot recommend this series, despite the amazing first book. I thought Claire would turn out to be this brilliant, strong, surprising heroine. Instead, the author has made her predictable, weak, and a total cliche. Using the excuse that she sacrifices herself for others is just an old, played-out theme! And, the whole idea that she can overcome horrific abuse to fall in love with the same one who inflicted it is just not right. The author is a great storyteller, but after the first book, the characters just turned into cliches and the third book rambled on and on. I truly wish they had more stars for books as wonderfully captivating as this one... I don't agree with spoilers because you must experience it for yourself... but I do give books my honest feelings and review.... at first I was very apprehensive and thought uugghh another fluff book and didnt want go continue reading... I'm so glad I soldiered on!!! WOW .... freaking super mega WOW!!! Even without my smutty sex scenes ... this book was hypnotic and gripping... I held my breath many times throughout and felt everything the MC went threw.... in the end I was crying tears of happiness and sadness .... If you read this book be fore warned its gonna take your heart on an unforgettable journey!!!!!
