The series were good, but not great. Patch's feeling for Nora is truly desirable, and it makes me envy Nora for even getting a chance to be with Patch. But Nora's personality just annoys me so much. Almost every little thing that she did or said, made me want to just stop reading it, but Patch is just too irresistible. It was a love-hate relationship. I can't deny that I stayed up till the a.m.'s reading trying to finish the book. Giving it 3 stars because while it didn't fall into my great expectations the story line had potential. Also, I did finish the books; unlike when I tried to read 50 Shades of Grey. BLEHCK!I chose to read the Hush Hush Saga because of the good reviews it received and well I wanted to try something new. Plus, I was deathly ill and bored out of my mind laying in bed trying not to drown in my own snot. {You're welcome for that mental picture. :P} Hush Hush was definitely not what I was expecting. While the story is intriguing in some parts and totally infuriating in others. The story leaves you wanting some depth. The characters are OK but the story washes them out in most spots giving it that twilight feel that I am not fond off. Character plots do seem to take unexpected twists but they are done awkwardly and not at all as surprising as they should be.Patch is an infuriating fallen angel who has an emotional roller coaster of issues I can't even begin to explain. The whole story line paints him as this deeply mysterious character that you are DYING to figure out but it drags on for far too long. I found it hard to trust him at all in the ENTIRE series. I had not one moment of trust for his character he is just so flaky. Deep into the third book your are still left wondering how he ties in to everything. May I please also comment on his name what is up with that? Nora is supposed to be a smart girl with big dreams but comes across as an air head with her incessant need of Patch. Her relationship issues seem to outweigh her real problems like I don't know, dealing with the fact she is... spoilers my dear, spoilers. Her aspirations and dreams just kind of floated away the moment he entered her life. Don't even get me started on her best friend Vee who is portrayed as a food addicted, boy crazy, fat ass. Not to mention her horrible luck with boys. Throughout the book you just want to shake Nora into reality and get as far away from Patch and punch Vee in the face. It is just too much of a mess and not enough satisfaction for it.The other thing that bothered me beyond reason was the "Love" Patch and Nora supposedly felt for each other. It was overdone and not smooth in its transition. They went from mystery strangers to I would die for you in record time and Nora's I need patch or I am gonna die made me roll my eyes more than feel any sympathy or pity for her. Not to mention spoilers of which I can't post. He is BAD BAD BAD and she just semi blindly trusts him.As I finished the first book it seemed odd to me that there was 3 more books since the first book finished off like a standalone. There was no cliffhanger even though there was some deep dark secrets left unanswered it was nothing too extreme. the prologue to the second book for instance would have made a great last chapter to the first book. As I read on I realized that much of the first books story could have been omitted entirely.Still something about the story line kept me coming back. Call me a glutton for punishment or insanely curious. As I read on I realized this "Saga" had so much potential but it was all wasted away by mediocre writing and bad editing. I can tell that the author just wrote without really paying attention to where she wanted this story to go. She dragged on this series and just added and added to a story that frankly didn't need all that much with some proper editing and better thought process.After book 3 it seemed the author was just looking for a way to extend the story line which could have ended at book 3. In Fact this Saga could have been made into a trilogy with some epic editing. The story line continued in book 4 was good and almost shoved all the first 3 books in there making it seem like it was more of a stand alone than an ending to a series. Wish I would have known that before. The story ends with a bang that wasn't as easily predicted as I imagined it would be. Though some elements you just saw coming. All in all I don't highly recommend the book unless like me you are out sick for the week and extremely bored. I did notice however how much better the author's writing became as the books dragged on so I wouldn't be totally against reading her new book due out sometime this year titled Black Ice.As I often say with this books, "Great Idea. Poor Execution.".
