Seriál Upíří deníky, na nichž je tahle série založena, jsem přestala sledovat skoro před rokem a vydrželo mi to až doteď. Dřív se mi to líbilo, ale potom z toho tvůrci začali dělat šílenou slátaninu a už se na to nedalo dívat. Nicméně Stefanovy deníky jsem si i tak docela oblíbila, hlavně asi proto, že tam vůbec nevystupuje Elena. Bavilo mě dozvídat se, co všechno Stefan s Damonem zažívali poté, co se z nich stali upíři. Proto tuhle sérii považuju za daleko lepší než celý ten slavný seriál. Na lepší hodnocení než je průměr, ale nikdy nedosáhne.V minulém díle mi vadilo, že se tam nic moc nedělo. Hrdinové pořád tápali a hledali nějaké Samuelovo slabé místo, což mi přišlo jako nuda. V tomhle díle už to bylo daleko lepší, nebylo tam tolik hluchých míst a konečně se něco dělo. Stefan s Damonem se tentokrát snažili najít spojence, kteří by jim pomohli v boji proti Samuelovi, a vymýšleli, jak ho konečně dostat. Jak mi ale minule vadilo, že to bylo moc utahané, tak tady mi zase přišlo, že to bylo hrozně uspěchané. Čarodějky, které jsou pověstné tím, že upíry nenávidí, se nechaly ukecat strašně snadno a ani za spolupráci s bratry nic nechtěly. To mi prostě přišlo hrozně divné. A vůbec všechno probíhalo hrozně rychle a člověk ani neměl čas na to, si tu akci užít.Z postav mám samozřejně nejradši Damona, protože je prostě skvělý. Sarkastický, s ničím se nemaže, nelituje se a je pořád sám sebou. Stefan mi naproti tomu připadá jako nakopnuté štěně. Pořád jenom vyšiloval, fňukal a obviňoval se kvůli všemu. To já teda vůbec nemusím.Z ženských postav bych zmínila akorát Coru, kterou jsem měla čím dál víc radši. Byla silná, odvážná a měla schopnost vždycky utnout hašteření obou bratrů. Samuel byl jako záporák dokonalý. Mám ráda takové ty zvrácené typy, kteří se před ničím nezastaví a chtějí všechny ovládat. Konkrétně to, oč Samuel usiloval, bylo pěkně nechutné, to by nikdo normální nevymyslel.Co jsem se tak dívala, měl by být tenhle díl poslední, čemuž bych ale moc nevěřila, protože všichni známe tenhle styl. Upíří deníky jsou taky nekonečné a už mají asi 20 dílů. I když se mi teda moc nezdá, že přestože jsou oba bratři upíry tak 150 let, v téhle sérii těch let bylo zmapovaných asi jenom 20 a to mi přijde hrozně málo. Vždyť toho zažili daleko víc, ta uvidíme, jak to bude dál. *BEFORE READING THE BOOK*So I just started reading this book and I can't wait to finish it. Only one victim left. Mary Jane Kelly if I remember correctly. I think that was the last victim of Jack the Ripper... Can't wait to see how she's described in this book. What I like about this series is that they actually kept everything the real Jack The Ripper did back in autumn 1888. From the victims he killed to the places they were found and the letter he sent to the press. Truth be told, if vampires were real, this might, and I repeat MIGHT, be a pretty good explanation. Still, those poor women were brutally murdered and "Jack" got away with it. Not even today can anybody tell who he really was. The suspects have included everyone from Queen Victoria’s grandson the Duke of Clarence to Alice in Wonderland author Lewis Carroll. Some even said a Sioux Indian warrior called Black Elk, who toured Britain with Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show in the 1880s, was the guilty man. Others believed child charity campaigner Dr Barnardo was “Jack”. There are even those who say that he was just dreamed up by a drunken journalist called Thomas Bulling who wrote a forged letter to Scotland Yard in 1888 pretending to be “Jack” so he could obtain a scoop. Whatever the truth is, it still is terrifying. Can't wait to see how this notorious killer finds his end in this series. *AFTER READING THE BOOK*I finished it. Ow my GOD!!! It was absolutely amazing!!! I didn't expect it to be much better than the rest... Most of them were entertaining, but not really extremely good. This one, however, it was definitely the best. After all, it's the only one that deserves 5 stars. But like any other book, It had it's ups and downs.Cora is still one of my favorite characters and she just rocks. And she's very bad ass. And her relationship with the Salvatore brothers is just perfect. Not romantic or anything. She's like the little sister they never had. And I love that.I hated it when Violet died. She was one of my favorite characters also. But I guess, that she'd gone too far beyond humanity to be saved. And I understand that. But she was so sweet and carefree. Mary Jane Kelly is now my most favorite character. I mean, she's descended from the Original Coven. I knew she was going to die from the moment she introduced herself after being attacked by Samuel... She was Jack the Ripper's last victim... But I still hoped that she'd somehow be brought back to life by some witchy hex made by Lady Alice or Jemma, even after she died so brutally murdered. But, then again, if no one dear dies, it just doesn't feel real, right? One thing I totally hated. What the freaking bloody blueberries was that crazy story about Elijah? That didn't sound at all like the Nobile Original Vampire we all love and adore!!! I mean, let's be serious. It sounded more like something Klaus or Kol would do. "He did it just because he had the power too." Really? Does that sound like Elijah? I don't think so.
