About book The Commitment (2013)

after reading book 1, i couldnt wait for book 2 to see how this story developed. unfortunately, book 2 was a disappointment for me. i still loved dr. morgan's character, altho his patience was over the charts; but i had a problem with katie because she turned into a whiney submissive, of sorts. im not into this lifestyle, and maybe its 'normal' for subs to be this way, but i thought it took a lot away from the book. i did struggle through it, thanks to dr. morgan --and some pretty steamy sex scenes. I was really looking forward to the continuation of Kate and Drake's story. Unfortunately, Kate started to get too whiney and undecided for me and I began to get irritated with her. I ultimately got disinterested in the story because of it. KUDOS to the twist, but the balance between lifetime partner and sub in the bedroom was ignored for much of the book. I can't say I've ever read a book where the sub was complaining that she hadn't had sex in 2 days. I'm not sure why she was feeling neglected because of that. It just wasn't really relatable or believable for me. Drake was his usual stand up self, and handled all of the drama unfolding in his life fairly well from dealing with his ex-wife, her new husband, hospital staff, his jealousy and trust in Kate. He even got sick - which was a nice touch. Dom's are rarely vulnerable in books, so it was great to see. It seemed like there was less conversation, more assumptions and a story that needed Kate to have more of a dynamic role. I kept wondering where the Kate from The Agreement went. She was strong and self-assured. The ending was surrprising. I was forseeing an HEA, but this was unexpected.

Do You like book The Commitment (2013)?

A bit too detailed. I would have rather the story was more about their trip to Africa.

I did like book 2 in the series. But it did seem a little all over the place at times.
