A year ago, Tori let her guard down and Brody Kent slipped right in, planting one hot, unforgettable kiss on her in a dark corner at the company Christmas party. Though the kiss surpassed her wildest dreams, she can't let it happen again. She loves Brody, but he's got a reputation for loving and leaving. She'll have to keep her heart--and her libido--in check.Brody can't get the time of day from Tori--ever since that impulsive kiss, she's avoided him with the same brutal efficiency she uses to manage his family's construction company office. The company can't afford to lose her, and Brody's come to realize that he can't live without her. But how can he convince Tori that he's a changed man? It just might take a Christmas miracle. This just might be the best Burton book i have read so far. Loved the spit fire Tori. Loved how she managed all the men in her life. The perfect book to take you awayfrom your problems. Burton captured the essence of love and put it in a book. Supurb, with just enough smoke to make it hot. 5 stars. This is either a novella or part of an anthology since it's just over a hundred pages. But it's still a good read. The story opens with Brody Kent being admonished by his brothers to "Fix Tori." It seems that, ever since he kissed her at the company party ten months ago (TEN MONTHS? And they're just getting to this now?) she just hasn't been the same.See, Tori has had the super-hots for Brody for a long time now (over ten years) but Brody has only recently noticed that she's a good looking woman. Knowing that Brody is a player and not wanting to lose the only family she's ever really had, Tori is gun shy about jumping into the sack with him. It's only going to break her heart.I haven't read the other two books in this series but still enjoyed this story. For me, knowing that two characters have a back story helps make short stories more believable. And while it takes awhile for these two to finally communicate, it's done in a realistic way. Except for the last-way-too-over-the-top end scene. Nope. Did not enjoy that. But the rest of the story was good.
