About book The Arrangement 2: The Ferro Family (2013)
Okay, so I was holding out to review these until the last book... but since she keeps this story going... and going..., I figured I'd write my opinion of the series thus far. So, I kind of have a love hate relationship with this series. It started out very strong, then it just got annoying, or to the point where I want to indignantly say "really?". Some books I would give 4+ stars, some I'd give 1 or 2. So I'm leaving this rating somewhere in the middle. One thing that I can't complain about is that the books definitely keep you reading. Maybe it's because she releases only a few chapters at a time (or so it seems), and maybe it's because she cleverly ends EACH one on a stupid cliff hanger. But, that's getting really annoying right now. I mean... REALLY? Do you really need to break these up into 15+ books? I know this is a fan based series, where she keeps writing if the fans want it. I can understand that... but now I feel like the plot is channeling something of LOST in order to keep the plot moving forward. I mean, it wouldn't surprise me if she were abducted by aliens and then the wakes up and it was all a dream. Okay... so it's not that bad, but I had to get a little rant in. I just want the series to be finished with already. Or atleast... when a book comes out... it takes me more than 1 hour to read it. Yep... these take me about an hour to read. So, anyways... rant over. With all of that being said, I will still keep buying these because I'm curious to know how this ends... so I guess in a way, HM Ward knows what she's doing. (Sigh) I really liked the first but this one was disappointing. At this point I'm not interested enough to keep going unfortunately. This one just didn't have the connection, I think it spent too much time on other things so you kind of lose the momentum between the two main characters.The first thing that stood out to me was the scene at the restaurant. He comes in with a woman and she says "Is there a problem here?" and we find out this is his accountant and when they are all eating she's nice and joking but with that start it was more possessive sounding so the change of personality seems odd. Then they are talking about his 8000 expenditure, the two of them know what it is and I would have expected some kind of inner dialogue from Avery. She knows how much she was paid, now she knows how much he paid. She's a smart woman and money is VERY important to her, I would have expected something from her, instead it was just kind of ignored.

So, despite the fact that Sean Ferro has some REALLY series issues. He is dealing with some baggage that needs all sorts of levels of therapy... we somehow sympathize with him and somehow want to make him the good person that we met in book one. He seems to be lost in this whole hang up he has. All I know is that this couple has an amazing amount of chemistry that the lead male is refusing to acknowledge. Just when you think, hey, "This call girl with the heart of gold is going to save our somehow Jekyll/Hyde dude." Nope. Sean has to go mess it all up with his issues! Thanks Sean, like I don't have enough tension going on while I'm reading about poor Avery who is being forced into high class prostitution by her best friend. Seize the day, YO! That's what I feel like her friend should say to her lol

Okay, I get the concept of a continuing story however, these very short bursts of storyline with very little movement forward with the story are really starting to annoy me! I mean I am reading these in about an hour and boom, it's done! What the hell just happened? This is the way to milk readers without giving them much of a payoff. Luckily I am using kindle unlimited but it is really starring to tick me off!! If the 3rd saga continues with this venue--- I AM DONE
