About book The Angel Of Grozny Life Inside Chechnya (2007)
I knew nothing of Chechnya before reading this book and, although it's dangerous to take any one account of such a complex situation as gospel, I do feel more informed. And that is one of the triumphs of this book - that it makes clear the lack of clarity, and the complexity, of ancient regional warfare. Although there is great sympathy for the Chechens, Seierstad is careful to illuminate the stories of Russians too. Ultimately it's a bleak book, and there is no sign of resolution, but in the details of the stories of the individuals caught up in these conflicts run by the safe and the powerful, there is great humanity. Even in the devastated ruins of cities there are angels. ملاك غروزني "بارقة أمل في ظلمة الشيشان" نقل وتصوير لأحداث الحرب التي من أشدّ المآسي التي تعرض لها الإسلامبدأت الكاتبة كصحافية تنقل أخبار الحرب كتقارير صحفية ومذكرات شخصية بدون حبكة حتى مُنعت من دخول الشيشان ودخلت تهريباً وعاشت مع المستضعفين المسلمينفي فصل ملاك غروزني والذي سمّي الكتاب به قصص مختلفة جمعتها من أطفال الحرب ومشاعرهم كشفت الكثير من التهميش الإعلامي للحرب وتشويه المجاهدين مالت إلى تصديق المستضعفين وهذا لا يدل على دقّة و صحّة ماتنقله عن عادات المسلمين ، حيث صوّرت انتشار الخمور والإعتداء على الفتيات من المحارم في جزء ما في آخر الكتاب مللت جداً ، أصبحت تكتب تقارير صحفية عن أوضاع البلاد بشكل ممل الجدير بالذكر أنها وقفت على حقائق زرع عملاء روسيا في قلب الشيشان وإضعاف قوتهم بعد الحرب والسلاح بالفرقة الداخلية من حكومة عميلة

Couldn't finish this one. I was enjoying the story, but didn't have enough time.
