That's really what I got out of it. Not much romance, hardly any interaction with "the guys"(Shooter,Hawke,Doc and Easy) til the end. Tex and Abby meet, sleep together, and then begins the "how to be a submissive" guide. I was grossed out a lot - as bsdm is not my thing, but I should have known it would be "dominant" in Tex book. They did exercises in trust, loyalty, even love but Abby gives over too much control. Everything is about what Tex wants and if he doesn't get it the relationship's over. To be such a shrewd business woman, but totally gullible in bed, I just didn't connect. What an utter disappointment. I really enjoyed the first book. This one could have been written by someone else. The flow of the story is awful. 2/3 is taken up like a bad BDSM book. The characterisations are believable. The only saving grace is the last few chapters. The ending... that wasn't even an ending. What is missing from the first book - *decent editing (grammar, spelling, sentence structure were dreadful) *interactions between all of the boys was extremely limited. The comedy and friendship dynamic is missing. *honest characterisation in book but not for this one.*plot was limited to bits of the beginning and the final few chapters at the end. *sexual encounters were not hot. Not realistic. Not believable. Not respectful to true BDSM relationships. Spoken promises in training were not followed through. Tex was shown as an awful Dom. I loved Tex in book 1 and hated him in this book. I'm hoping the rest of the series will make up for this complete, lazy, disaster of a book. I'm hoping it can because book 1 was on the money. Perhaps it really was written by two separate authors or in the rush the editor was lost and the author was chasing the dollar instead of the story.
