Now this book is seriously even better than the first. Little' bit. Our main protagonists youngest little girl is a sweetie and I loved all the sections with her in it. Less philosophy and more action this book was a much smoother read.My problem with this book? The lack of long term planning and the shortsightedness of all the characters in the book. That really got on my nerves. Our main protagonists hints at stuff that needs to be done but it is never mentioned and a lack of planning is partly why these people's earth came to a standstill in the first place.If this is your genre, you will love this.WaAr A look a what could be should the United States be a victim of a EMP strike. How will your friends and neighbors act when their food and water begin to run out? How will the gangs and ne'er-do-wells react when police and other authorities are stretched to capacity or gone all together? How will our government react in trying to regain control and provide what little support is possible? How will YOU act? Will you, can you survive? These are the questions this series explores, and quite well I confess. Book two focuses on a group of survivors who ban together to help each other verses basically those who don't. Eventually people have to decide whether to go to FEMA camps and if these camps are good or not. Remember the FEMA camps in New Orleans after Katrina?Book three will focus more on these camps, the government behind the camps, and the resistance towards these camps. Should be interesting.
Oh crap, now I have to wait until the end of the month to get book three...
