About book Star Wars The Old Republic: Fatal Alliance (2011)
Finished this a while ago, but somehow haven't found the time for reading/Goodreads recently. From memory, I found this really entertaining and a fun Star Wars story to pass the time. The story has plenty of going on, with plenty of shifting alliances, which whilst sometimes felt a bit over the top were entertaining to see. I think my main complaint was that the technology of the antagonists is far superior to anything seen before or since in the Star Wars universe, which doesn't really make sense from a canon perspective. But it was fun, enjoyable and written well enough. This book was incredibly dull. Chapter upon chapter was taken to describe events that could have been summed up in a few paragraphs. If it had been 150 pages or so, that would have been perfect. Even if it was shorter, it still would have suffered from an amazingly boring plot. Why either side decided to go on the adventure is beyond me even after finishing it. The characters were uninteresting. They were all very cookie cutter with no personalities that I could care about. Shigar's "psychometry" is one of the dumbest abilities I've ever read. Apparently this isn't the first book that used it, but that doesn't make it right...
