About book Sér Grefur Gröf (2006)

This is a great mystery! Past and present interwoven to create clues and possibilities that keep the reader guessing, right up to the end!I loved it, well all except the Islandic names. I live in a villiage that was settled by Icelanders - nobody but an Icelander can pronounce the names. Easy solution: make up your own names for the characters and keep reading. Thora Gudmundsdottir (nice last name, huh? It means Gudmunds daughter)is an attorney with a rather odd client, whom she travels out to see in the West of Iceland at his hotel. The hotel is built on property which belonged to two brothers (long dead) with a long and involved history. Not just one murder, but two happen while she is there and her client seems to be the best suspect the police have. Thora decides to investigate with her German lover, Matthew, in hopes of finding something that will lead the police away from her client. The rest of the characters and suspects are interesting; also with involved stories that seem to somehow all point toward the murders.Really well written, translated and edited. So worth the read~
