About book Spilling Ink: A Young Writer's Handbook (2010)

I really like this book it gives really good advice on writing books and coming up with the people in the books. My favorite part so far is when you start to write about a person pretend they are alive and real after doing that it should be easy to write about them. Another thing the aouther said was you could base people in your book after people in real life. Your story could also e somthing that really did happen to you. Another idea i really liked was write some names and put them in a bowl and then write a location and details in another bowl then pick three out of each and that gives you the base for your book. One thing that i really liked was said by ellen potter When she was writing her book she said she didnt have an outline for her book she just went with what come to her mind. Ellen potter also said that writing a book may take a few years some times up to seven years. Yet another thing mentioned by anne mazer was wrie anything that pops into your mind on anything in the book she said her favorites were here jeans and paper. I find it fitting to start off with a writing book, and this is the perfect one for the job. Spilling Ink: A Young Writer’s Handbook by Anne Mazer and Ellen Potter is an innovative and light book for anyone who wants (or doesn’t want) an early start on writing. Anne and Ellen talk you through the deepest pits and highest reaches of creating a story. From “Convincing Your Characters That They Are Alive” to “A Writer’s Life”, each chapter will show you through the Creative Process and one will even attack it. You’ll bake a character from scratch and then learn their deepest secrets, visit the Writer’s Block Prison and read a perfect page. You might even be inspired to write a story.
