I love all the Sookie Stackhouse books- I discovered the first one shortly after it came out and I devoured it. I loved the idea of a Southern vampire mystery- and Sookie quickly became one of my fave characters. They were so different than other vampire stories I'd read- not young adult and not horrifying monsters. Suddenly vampires could be good or bad- but always dangerous to be around! Love all the characters! Oh, how I LOVE the Sookie Stackhouse books! My friend and I started reading them together, switching books between the two of us. The books are one of my fave vampire series of all time! Being from the south, I love the familiarity of the sayings and customs Charlaine incorporates. Sookie as a character is interesting because of her ability, which is different because it's usually the vampires that have the abilities. Charlaine Harris created an epic vampire world that people will never forget. I will warn you though that it is not for people 15 and under,due to the strong language and sexual scenes. I was extremely excited when they made it into the show True Blood! who doesn't love seeing Bill and Eric in live action? :) #TEAMBILL
The writing isn't that great, but the books are fun to read and entertaining.
