I had a terrible time reading this book. I felt like it took away the whimsy and magic that I've always held for the story of Alice in Wonderland. While reading this story, I stepped away from my usual genre of romance in an attempt to broaden my horizons. While I'm probably better for trying something new, I can't say that this was an enjoyable story. It felt more like work just to make myself read the next chapter. I'm used to a pleasent story and a happy ending. What can I say - I finished it. That's about it. It was a very interesting bit of study, as the author is quite true to known facts. The story is depressing in many ways.
