What happened to MJP? This series is nowhere as good as the Silk one, and seems somehow familiar. Sarah is kidnapped by Irish revolutionaries who think she is twin, a duchess. A disowned second son of lord, Rob, who just happens to be a Bow Street runner, just happens to stop in to visit the duke, and ends up chasing the girl and villains to Ireland.Of course Rob rescues Sarah and there's attraction. But the two decide to be friendly instead; both have loved and lost and aren't too keen on reprising the feelings. You get the gist.The leads are appealing, the writing is fine (but not as good as the Silk trilogy and other earlier books), but this left me rather flat. If I am in the mood for a romance where both main characters are likable, honest and attracted to each other, I usually get my fix from MJP. As expected, this one has 2 characters that from the onset showed interest in the other. Thus it is easy to buy into their developing romance and HEA.The only downside is MJP almost always go for the fairy tale ending where almost everything is neatly solved. The bad guys therefore, lack dimensions.
