About book Small Bunny's Blue Blanket. By Tatyana Feeney (2012)
I may not have been a Linus, but I certainly loved my blanket. (It was yellow. With bunnies, actually.) So this story made me smile about Bunny's love for his blanket. And the whole washing part? Fabulous. Pictures are very simple, but I loved them. Especially when bunny was trying to hide under the bed. Must try in storytime. I think the kids could relate and have a laugh or two.Normally just 3 stars. But the 107 minutes makes it 4.2/6/13 & 2/7/13: perfect addition for "comfort" theme, though I think I lost both groups on this one. Maybe 2 blanket books were too many? Or my theory that none of them are really attached to any blankets. Sad day. But neither kid nor adult found the 107 minutes that funny. *sigh.* Sometimes I stand alone in what I find funny. Simple little story about what happens when Small Bunny's best friend and favorite thing ever, blue blanket, has to be washed. Everything turns out just fine! This book would be excellent for any kid who has a favorite blanket or stuffed animal or whatever, and needs some reassurance that it will still be perfect when it comes out of the washer (or gets repaired or patched!).Mostly white pages feature the small bunny, sketched with pencil, and the collage blanket. They keep the focus on the blanket and the bunny, and allow them to make an impact.This book would probably work for a toddler story time, because it is short enough to hold attention and about a very popular subject. Maybe for a pajama story time?
