I REALLY liked this book! I am so happy right now, I've been reading really awesome high fantasy books lately having just finished 'snow like ashes'. This book has awesome world-building, it's very unique and the concept of the different mages was really intriguing! I loved the mountain people's description and how action-filled this was. the beginning was a bit slow and i was irritated with Rogan at first for her weird logic and temper, but she eventually grew on me, and in the end you can definitely see her Character grow and become more mature. I really liked it! its definitely worth reading! I really enjoyed this magical little world Samantha Young created for our enjoyment. I was impressed by all the strong female characters. Particularly the strong heroine and the fact that she was never really "saved" by her love interest, which really would have been the easier way out. The mix of romance and adventure was perfect. Though I would have liked little bit more sex (Captain sounded hot!) I liked that even though she didn't focus on sex she also didn't fluff over it either. All around a solid 4 stars for me!
