Another great book in the series and this one is almost two times longer than previous installment. Can't say these two books are very related - they will be good without one another as well (we see Meli and her husband only briefly towards the end). So this one is about a soldier. And not just a simple soldier, but a mind influencing one. But her side loses the war and she has to run for her life. She manages to cover her mind's potential and she is sent to another planet, where she pretends not having any special abilities. But no such luck :) She gets a job at a company as a personal administrator and falls hard for her boss, who's a very powerful mind talent himself. And here starts a fun part :) Awesome. Just awesome. I love the world of the Kinsmen. Ilona Andrews creates these worlds that are so full and vibrant and 'real', they become places you want to visit (or don't want to cause they are terrifying) and you can 'see' them thanks to their creative writing prowess! The world of the Kinsmen is unique - as are all of the worlds that they create - and the characters are fully developed, even in a short story. They only fault I can find with this book is that it's too darn short! I felt like it just ended... not that it didn't end well... but it was just suddenly over and I had become so invested in it that I felt a loss! I hope there are more in this series.I highly recommend it to anyone who loves some sci-fi, paranormal, romance or just plain creative and well-crafted story telling.
Do You like book Silver Shark (2011)?
Good novella with an nice background. I would've wished that the romance would have been longer.
