I thought this was a pretty predictable novel. I could guess the next scene that was going to occur and bam it'd be right there when I turned the page. The first half was pretty interesting with Lissa as narrator and although her plan was just ridiculous and frankly places a big deal on sex, it wasn't as bad as I'd imagined it to be (which I admit was horrifyingly bad). I liked the message in the book about the double standards the people have about sex and genders but like another reviewer stated it was extremely blatantly written. There was no subtlety in it. I'd rather have the story gradually show those double standards rather than just talking about it. And while Lissa seemed to be constantly thinking or saying that, that was not shown in the novel. There's only that bit about Lissa being a cock tease and the wide known fact that Chloe is called a whore just because she likes sex. Like I said, show me instead of tell me. Lissa was a decent character in the beginning except when she wasn't. The "war" got to her head for some stupid reason. And instead of being the rational person she appeared to be she let power go to her head. It was obvious from the beginning she wasn't the right person to be leader of the little plan she concocted. And the romance was pure bullshit. How can two people be so freaking oblivious? Anyways I was extremely disappointed by this even though I knew it was going to be stupid when I read the preview about a "brilliant" plan of abstinence. Seemed pretty juvenile. Don't you just hate it when a story goes like this?Boy 1 and Girl 1 were a happy couple, had been together for years and both their parents approved of their relationship. Just perfect! Then Boy 2 came into the picture and for some reasons, Girl 1 felt some attraction towards him. So yeah, she struggled with her feelings b'cause on one hand was her high school sweetheart but the other was someone she actually felt connected to or some bullshit like that. Before 2 minute to her wedding with Boy 1, not necessarily a wedding it could be an important event that had something to do with their relationship, Boy 1 suddenly turned out to be a jerk and she realized Boy 2 was her soul mate.I don't know about you but I COMPLETELY HATE THAT KIND OF STORY!DNF around 50% cause Lissa was so annoying that I couldn't read it anymore.
Set in Kody Keplinger's Hamilton High, this story has the old day classic of Lysistrata as the undercurrent. This modern spin-off sees the neurotic Lissa forming a girl team to end the longstanding rivalry between the school's soccer and football team. An entertaining idea of war and drama amongst teenagers with interesting back-home stories and an array of personalities in the cast. A fan of the confident best friend Chloe and genuine nice guy Cash. Can only be a quick, lighthearted read- with it's immature teenage cringeworthy moments and cheap laugh out louds. However, thought it was a neat conclusion to the gender feud. Some fun feminist power as well as real questions brought up about gender inequalities.

Well this book was as funny and exciting as "The Duff." I loved the characters, I mean come on we all want a friend like Chloe and a boyfriend like Cash. I also loved the main character, Lissa. I thought her way of seeing things was both special and funny. I love how the writing is fresh, easy to read, hilarious and well written at the same time.I read it really fast and enjoyed the original plot. I thought the end was perfect and the kisses...even more.Good book, I really liked it. If you enjoy easy, cute, funny novels...then this is your book!
