About book Seeker (2002)

I have enjoyed the Sweep series. Seeker was taken from Hunter's POV. This is a great insight into his character. He faces the hard decision about finding his parents. The counsel lets him know where they might be. The goodbye scene between Hunter and Morgan was a heart jerker. I really felt for Morgan, even though it was in Hunter's pov. He travel's to Quebec, Canada to find his father. When he finds him, his idea of what he would look like and what he actually looks like is greatly different. He is a frail, thin old man. No longer the robust, health man that he use to be. The eleven years of hiding and travel have taken their tole on him. He lives in a small rundown dirty cabin. He begins to prosper while Hunter is there. Hunter then learns from his father that his mother died three months earlier in December in Mexico from poor health. He is devistated, but glad to find his father. While there Hunter discovers that his father has opened up a bith dearc. It is an opening created to have contact with the shadow world. Hunter learns that he is trying to contact his mother, and actually succeeds. He is adamant that his father close the portal and never try that again, because it can sap the strength and health from the live witch. While there, he gets a job from the counsel about a witch that is writing down the true names of animals and people. He is sent to stop her. Justine is very crafty and is able to hide her darker side from Hunter, until she preforms a healing spell on Daniel. Daniel then suspects her darker dealings with the shadow world and discovers her true nameand relays them to Hunter. Hunter then uses this knowledge to gain control and to stop her. His reunion with Morgan was heartwarming. However, he had to tell her the truth about what happened between him and Justine. Morgan is very hurt, but does not get overly upset with him. I am glad that their relationship with standed his journey. However, now that Hunter has learned some of the secrets that the counsel has deliberatly kept from him for man months he is questioning his place with them. Which i would agree with if i was in his shoes. I am looking forward to book 11 now! Cant wait to find out what happens!!

I had to update my rating for this installment of the Wicca series. I have only read Seeker once before, so my knowledge of the events that took place was particularly fuzzy. All I remembered was that it was the first book in the series to be narrated by someone other than Morgan Rowlands, this time by her boyfriend Hunter Niall. I love Hunter's character, but I also love Morgan's narration and its blend of the familiar and the unfamiliar, so for some reason I took this to mean that I did not enjoy this book as much at the time.Upon re-reading it, I had to up the rating from 2 to 4 stars because I found this highly enjoyable. It's by no means my favourite book in the series, but I really enjoyed hearing things from a male perspective for once, and there were a lot of heartfelt moments in this book as well as true temptation. The change of scene from Widows Vale to the most northern regions of Canada was also a welcome difference, and finally I understand how this book leads into the next book in the series (and the first that I have never read before). Finally I can complete the series with new stories I haven't encountered before.

Do You like book Seeker (2002)?

Reviewed by delil1Hunter Niall is a blood witch. At nineteen he is the youngest person to ever work as a seeker for the International Council of Witches. It is his job to police the magickal community and keep people from misusing their powers. For years he has believed that his parents were dead. He has just found evidence that they are alive and have been in hiding for the last ten years. This information leads him on a journey Quebec City, Canada in search of his long lost parents. During his search he learns things that make him question the choices he has made and the path he has chosen in life. The tenth book in the Sweep series is in the point of view of Hunter, I loved this book because it showed uncertainty and insecurity in a previously unflappable character.

Endlich. Endlich endlich endlich.

A breath of fresh air with a new point of view. I'm glad Cate Tiernan decided to do this. Morgan's POV was getting kind of boring. Plus, I was getting a bit curious about Hunter's life as a Seeker, given he spends all of his time in Widow's Vale. I liked that Morgan was still present through her Book of Shadows, her entries were great and gave insight on what was happening in Widow's Vale with her family.Quite interesting what Hunter finds thats left of his dad and the adventure he finds as he searches for a witch that is writing down thing's true names, aka, the name that can give complete 100% control over a person or thing.Loved this book and it felt like a new perspective on the Wicca world that Tiernan created. Real excited how it's going to continue in the next books.
