I liked it. I liked that, for once, a shifter romance novel was balanced instead of deeply dysfunctional and unstable. For once, the main characters concerned themselves more with loving each other instead of fighting for supremacy and control. For once, an alpha male not only bottomed for his mate but admitted he wanted him more than anything and he expected them to be in an equal relationship. For once, I didn't have to witness any form of control between lovers. I am not only surprised but extremely satisfied because this is rare. After dozens of novels where one male is the girl and the other is the epitome of maleness...I feel refreshed and hopeful for future novels. Thank you.Now for the overall plot. It's very well written. The background is solid, consistent and amazingly full of details and explanations. The world-building is creative and, even tho not exactly new, has enough new aspects to entertain and captivate. The characters are the best part for me tho and not only because of what I mentioned above but also because the support characters are incredible and detailed and really brought life to the story. Really loved the HEA too. Well done. 4.5 Stars is my actual Rating!!!!This great Shifter book, Scent Of A Wolf by Draven St James!!!!I am a huge fan of all Shifter Paranormal stories and this book did not disappoint at all. The Characters were so beautifully written. I loved reading about the hot wolf characters such as Jace and Merek and I couldn't read enough about them and especially their dreams. It was such an interesting twist that these wolf types were written with such unusual abilities which I found set itself from other shifter stories and the reader will enjoy them very much. Jace is one of the lone survivors of his wolf pack and he runs during the day and at night he is searching for his mate whose name is Merek, in these most erotic dreams that I couldn't get enough of. On a visit to Jace's Grandmothers he smells Merek's scent and is over joyed at the possibility of finally finding him. Alpha evil Erickson who has been hunting Jace has shown up with his pack. He allows Merek to smell his scent so that he can help Jace in his fight against Erickson. Merek is now completely overjoyed to know that Jace is as real as in his erotic dreams! Both men has been dreaming of each other and searching for their perfect mates where no other shifter has come close. I loved the great scenes where Merek introduces Jace to his pack and not everyone is happy as they know this will put an end to their own desire to be with Merek. The action scenes between Jace and Merek's pack fight against the evil Erickson is so riveting and action filled! Will Merek and his pack be able to protect Jace or will they pay the ultimate price! Can Jace and Merek be happy after finally finding each other outside of their dreams or will other forces pull them apart or worse! Jace and Merek are meant to be together! This was so well written and the characters are so wildly interesting that you will fall in love with them as I did! I highly recommend this beautiful Shifter book by Draven St James!
