About book Sand Dollar: A Story Of Undying Love (2012)
it starts out with the man getting married in a Jewish ceremony, his mom with her expensive ring and broach which is explained later. she didn't like his first wife who was not Jewishthe first wife shows up at the second wedding in torn jeans, and he runs out after her. she told him she remembers she still loves him and made a mistake and takes off in a cabthen the book goes back in time....when he met her when she was working in a homeless shelter and had a daughter. it keeps jumping back and forth, parts of it i think hes in his 80's and is in the hospital and i think his wife is in the next room but im not sure. her daughter is grownthey got married and divorced, i think he was married once before. i think there is something wrong with her when she was young, something happened that her mom wont tell her and she cant remember. her counselor is no good, giving her drugs and having affairs with her. he quit his job with his father, his parents constantly pressuring him into doing what they wanted. he wanted to buy a old lighthouse type building and turn it into a bed and breakfast.if you like books that go back and forth in time you will love this book. i find them confusing but i know a lot of people like that format.part of the book is while he is dead in the hospital bed, they take him off life support. and he spent his whole life loving one woman that couldnt remember to love him back, tho in the end she did and they were married about 20 years. he didnt do anything with his children which i found odd and disturbing. he had one with her and one with the one he was going to marry when she came back into his life at the wedding of the other one. she was with a abusive man and had to work 3 jobs to support him, her first daughter and teh second daughter which belonged to the rich man she didnt want to be with but she didnt tell the abusive man that was his daughter.. I'm having problem with this book. It's too unrealistic. I don't understand why people are comparing this against Nicholas Sparks' The Notebook. They are very different. Interesting read but there several factors that made me scoff because majority of the time in real life, events or things would have not happened. For example, not telling your loved one nothing or small amount of your childhood stories before/after getting married. The deal with the psychiatrist raised many flags at the very beginning and the couple did not discuss the appointments/meetings with each other in details. There were many more. I'm sorry I'm just being honest here.
