I started reading Feehan books many years ago and couldn't get enough. Now they seem contrived and formulaic. I wanted to feel the love and rush of reading her stuff again but it was too similar to her other books and was disappointing. It feels like she copied whole paragraphs from other Gostwalker books and pasted them. I'm truly sorry to say that I will probably not buy any more of her books.... they all feel the same, I'll just read one that I already have. Samurai Game is the tenth book in the Ghostwalker series from author, Christine Feehan. You don’t need to read the previous nine books to understand this book but if you want a more complete picture, I’d suggest reading them. This book’s focus is on Azami and Sam. I vaguely recall Azami being mentioned in previous books by her nickname “Thorn”, but cannot recall Sam being mentioned, but as he is part of Ryland’s team I’m sure he was. In the open of Samurai Game, we find out that Thorn was thrown out by Whitney at a very young age and he never put a tracker in her. We also learn that she is one of the few who cannot be sensed by other Ghostwalkers. She meets our other protagonist when she heads to Norton’s compound to talk security, as her and her adoptive brothers own one of the top security companies. It all quickly goes south as a fight breaks out when an outside force comes into play. I quite loved this story, not just because of the two main characters, but because it really shows how the Ghostwalkers are banding together. The author does mention this in other books, but this one shows it in action. For this book I don’t think i have a favorite character. All of the characters mentioned already have a place in my heart. I would suggest this book for anyone who likes romance or paranormal romance.
