About book Rosendorn (2012)

I did really like this book. However I picked it up after reading a really boring one so it could be just rebound talking. The only thing that bothered me was how the mc won't stop obsessing over how hot the two main male fae guys she meets are. Like all the time. I did like this story and plan on reading the next one in hopes it gets better. I really felt for her and her drunken mom. I loved seeing things from her eyes and thought the stream of consciousness style of writing very easy to get into. The ideas in this book are absolutely amazing! Avalon, Faeriewalkers and their place/gifts, and the incorporation (or un-imcorporation) of the Courts in Avalon had me hooked! Those ideas made the book incredibly interesting. However, and this is a BIG however, Dana. The main character. Dana is very quick to "catch feelings" for just about everyone she meets. Now the aunt I understan. Human ideas of a family, especially one she's been idolizing in her head, can make a person less paranoid. BUT SERIOUSLY. She gushes over the guy that is an obviois player, and it's even flat out told to her. She is all too trusting then has the nerve to get upset when she finds out they lied? They just met you honey, and they are Fae, as you seem to forget.Thank the lord she got mad when he made a wrong move on her.But that I can look past, our girl Dana has more issues past her easily won affections. She's stupid. Quite literally, Dana hardly has a shred of common sense. The author must think that teenagers are stupidly rebellious and have a deeply rooted desire to do every obviously mistake while being surprised when - gasp - the plan fails. She doesn't seem as responsible as she's made out to be in the begining, as she takes no account into her own well being and the well being of the ones around her. All this isn't to say that I have no hope for the next book. I pray to all that is good, that this book is her learning experience and she wises up to how the Fae operate. Also, hopefully, she is blindfolded around the love interests because she loses her ability to function intelligently when near an attractive male. Wrong thing to do when living with a naturally gorgeous race.If not, and she doesn't end up dead by Fae, this series may be a flop.

Do You like book Rosendorn (2012)?

Overall, the storyline was interesting to keep me reading. Dana's perspective on life didn't mesh well with me. It wasn't because she was poorly written, it was honestly just a personality dislike on my behalf. There were moments throughout the book where I had to reread a sentence or phrase because it wasn't ordered how I would have said it. Eg: where Jenna Black wrote "brutal honesty" my mind wanted to read "brutally honest." Once again, these things don't necessarily affect my overall rating of the book. It was a rather enjoyable and quick read, but I don't see myself rushing for the second book.

I really enjoyed this book but towards the mid-end I got a little thrown off. First it was Ethan and then keane came along. So I was happy, I mean at least it's not Ethan, but towards then ending Ethan came to save the day but wha happened to keane? He just wasn't in the book at all anymore. I enjoyed this book but I wasn't jumping around or really surprised by anything. I'm looking forward to reading shadow spell!!!
