Not as good as the other books in this series. I found Violet very annoying and self- centered. At 19 they are both still essentially kids, but Violet suddenly expects Jonathan to make an adult, life changing decision without any previous discussions. When Violet finds out that she is pregnant, she doesn't tell Jonathan, instead she drops vague hints and expects Jonathan to guess or read her mind to find out the "great news". Like any regular 19 year old, Jonathan is totally clueless and does not get the "right answers" to her hints. Violet then storms off and spent the next 10 years bitter and feeling sorry for herself. Oh yeah she also really, really hates Jonathan. Unrealistic expectations.I am a great Jessica Clare fan, but this book did nothing for me. Stars: 4Overall: Jonathan has been in love with Violet for over 10 years and when he gets a letter in the mail, he goes to her school to get her to go on a treasure hunt with him. When Violet sees him again, he tries to kiss her and she knees him in the balls. Jonathan takes another route and gifts money to her school on the stipulation that she goes to help him with the clues her father left. When the trip first starts, she tries to keep him at arms length, but as the story continues she starts to let her walls down and Jonathan tries to break through them and remind her of their love together. A big BOMB is dropped and someone runs away, but in the end they get their HEA and the closure they both needed to move forward together. Pros: The treasure hunt was the best part of this story because it was a fun twist on a love story. Even though Violet drove me a little batty, I liked that once they got together it was just a good full mix of love and lust. Cons: The feelings of the past were a little much for me at times. I felt like that's all Violet talked about in her head and it drove me a little crazy. I get that he broke your heart, but I would think after tens years their would a little more than just anger and resentment.
