About book Ørnedag (2013)

I was a little disappointed in this second in the series due to the fact that it was not much different than the first. the settings of both stories are very developed but the setting in this book seems to be a bit to similar to the first one. In this book, more characters join Paul, Marc and the rest of the gang. Despite this books very familial plot, the ending is one that is unexpected and ends this book with a bang. Once again I find myself reading young adult books! This book is the third in the series "Henderson's Boys" and again follows the same type of storyline as others he has written. This series is the prequel to the Cherub series that he has written and still writing. I find all the books to be much of a muchness - young children used as undercover agents is an entirely feasible idea though the United Nations may have a raging debate over this in the future I guess. This book introduces the reader to characters in training for agent work and shows them going through their paces. All the teenaged angst is introduced to the reader but doesn't bog the book down. All are orphans and all have strengths and weaknesses in their characters - a common trait in all Cherub series - weakling, dominant bully etc. Once you know the formula for the series, as a reader you are introduced to a different theme but still have the good guy vs the bad guy. This book was as fast paced as others in the series and despite having prior knowledge of the Cherub series I could still have read this as a stand alone book and enjoyed it. Maybe that would have improved my overall rating for the book. Let's see what the teenager thinks....
