Decent enough effort that gets a lot of mileage from readers' investment in the show Castle and the "reputation" that the character Derrick Storm has from that. The whole time I am imagining Richard Castle writing this piece with all the over-the-top ridiculousness that goes along with that. I can't say how this would stand on it's own without the tie-in, but I can only guess that it would suffer if you were not a prior fan of the show. The cover art is great. The inside art is reasonable. The art does improve throughout the book.The story is very interesting. Not great, but entertaining.Now I am going to nitpick about the typography. I found the typewriter like font too harsh when Derrick Storm was thinking to himself. I assume you are supposed to believe the author is typing out the story. I do not think it works all that well.
An enjoyable enogh way to spend a Sunday afternoon but nothing out of this world
