About book Tempesta In Arrivo (2012)

I fully expected this to be terrible...but it was actually better than some of Clancy's final books and I happily read it in a single sitting. That is, by writing a near-parody of the espionage/political intrigue pulp novel, the authors managed to inject some life and levity back into it.With the further context of the Castle TV show, you can see Nathan Fillion's ruggedly handsome smirk through each page. That softens the blatant idiocy. The Castle book-TV show-Firefly reference cloud creates a post-modern cycle where the works and characters are conscious of themselves as works of fiction, while simultaneously the "actual" author is himself fictional. I think that's neat. As these things go, it's also probably way more fun than Derrida on a good day. Do You like book Tempesta In Arrivo (2012)?

Not bad. Having read the Nikki Heat books, and loved them, I figured I would try out Castle's Derrick Storm series. This one, A Brewing Storm, is part 1 of a 3 part series, and is more of a novella than a short story or novel. The writing has been changed a bit to reflect Storm..more harder, fast pace and gruffier. The only part that I think was a bit over down was the sexual aspect, but given that Storm as been a loner for 4 years, I can see that aspect being brought out because of the situation, but I think the author/Castle could have toned it down a bit and not make it that prominent. Overall, a good book and looking forward to Part 2.

If Richard Castle were a real person, he would be a better writer than this. This book has none of the charm or wit that Richard Castle's character exudes. It also doesn't seem to be written by the same ghostwriter as the Nikki Heat books (Tom Straw). And, whoever the ghostwriter is, he/she should be ashamed of him/herself for the gratuitous use of italics. If you're looking for a Castle fix during the show's summer hiatus, this won't give it to you.

Comic book. Not worth the effort to read.
