3.7 Stars. Public Library 10/22/14. Since I'm at the whim of availability this is my second book in the series even though this is actually the third. I was a bit worried that they wouldn't hold up as standalones but they do. I didn't feel lost and although there were new characters they fit nicely with the Black Knights crew. Ms. Walker includes just enough information to give context without bogging things down. Shelly is Frank Knights sister and Snake was part of his old team. History runs deep with this group Snake is Franks BF and Shelly's old flame. What happens next is predictable but there is just enough to doubt for things to turn out differently. This book also had more interpersonal drama then action and even less military involvement. Ms. Walker's pattern seems to be rich history, off limits little sisters, dumb stubborn men, misguided honorable intentions, sexual tension, and danger. If you like sexy men, complicated situations, delayed gratification, violence, and HEAs this series is for you. Love BKI and all of their SEALs. Such good men -loyal to a fault. Snake and Shell have gone through a lot and come out the other side. Now, the only question left is will they end up together? Yes, thank God! I keep reading this series and am never disappointed. I like JAW's writing style, descriptive wording, and topic (of course). The story is easy to relate to. The threat this time was to the family. I love the bond between these guys from Bravo Platoon. They have each other's back in battle and in life.
