About book Responsive Web Design (2011)

An excellent introduction to the creation of responsive web pages - pages that work well on any screen size and with or without JavaScript. This excellent book won't answer all of your questions but Jeremy Keith will give you a solid grounding in the fundamentals and a more than enough links to other sources to allow you to define and refine your technique. This slim volume is one of the better technical books I've read. RWD is a nice introduction to responsive design. Marcotte's writing style is friendly and accessible, an interesting read while communicating somewhat technical applications. Links to articles and examples were very helpful.Marcotte is effective in layout out a feasible approach to responsive design, addressing insightful questions, including discussing the overlap between responsive design and mobile first, which I gather will lead well into Mobile First.I wish root ems (rem) had been addressed during the discussion of ems. After reading the first 100 pages of the book in a day, I was able to adjust a previously built prototype to be responsive that evening.
