Coming out is never easy, even as an adult as Dirk discovers when he falls for Lee. The hardest part of coming out is often coming out to yourself. I find it increasingly difficult to fathom how a parent could ever reject one of their own children as Lee's parents did, yet I know it is happening every day around the globe. One can only hope that it will change, and I hope that by telling our truths we can make change possible.This was certainly a very good read as I had trouble putting it down. It was also a very stimulating read, but most importantly was the underlying theme that we need to be honest about our feelings and our truths first and foremost. My Favorite part of this book ~The Water/River Scene~But, there is a lot of other good things about this book~What captured my attention most...♥The descriptive writing, I could almost hear and see the rushing water~♥The plot was well written to say the least. I simply loved it~ ♥The Firefighter world ~ I liked the way is was written~realistic...BUT, Man oh man, the team of fireman he worked with (glad this is purely fictional because ) those )were some Arrogant Cold MOFs!"
