This review is from: Pure Passion (Pure Series) (Kindle Edition)This book started a bit slowly for me at first, but as I kept reading I began to appreciate the author's build up. Lara has had a crush on Max since she was 13 and has been totally obsessed with him for 8 years. Max was older and had no idea and didn't even recognize her when he saw her at a bar. They began their journey as friends and even became roommates. Max was in no hurry to start another romantic relationship since he had just broken up with his girlfriend of 9 years, because he caught her cheating with his dad,. His relationship with Lara quickly progressed in the space of a month, even though Max had trouble referring to her as his girlfriend. The night he met Lara was one of the worse days of his life because he was broke, had no prospects and had been cheated on. After meeting her she completely turned his life around and showed him how it felt to be truly loved by someone. Their journey had some peaks and valleys before they go to their HEA. This book was amazingly edited. I honestly could not get into this story. Lara was a little to crazy for my tastes and Max never actually seemed to realize he had feelings for her until her car accident, which was a stretch for me. Realizing she is your "soul mate" when she is almost dying? That's a little hard to believe. Throughout the story, I didn't even realize he had feelings for her at all. It seemed more like lust to me. He was almost to superficial for me to actually like and I constantly felt that Lara needed professional help. And my biggest pet peeve was the fact that when Max found out she was completely obsessed with him in high school, where she literally had to get on medication, he was okay with that and that he was sorry he didn't realize his feelings sooner? I feel that that would freak most guys out. But that's just my opinion. In all, this story is not my favorite.2 Stars
