About book Pööripäev (2011)

Been eager to read this book for a year or so, after reading the first book. However as I came to read this sequel I had no idea what had previously happened, hence why I reread The Devouring. This sequel came as a surprise. The first book is perfect in every way. And it's one of those novels that you presume should've stopped at one book. It was mystical, fantastical and just surprisingly filled with imagination. And as you read this book you come to believe that it really should have stopped at one novel.Yet, after reaching half-way through the book, you realise how fantastical this book is. That a lot of thought and creativity was produced to get this book to work, and I am completely awe-struck at the images Simon Holt easily created in my head. I was there with Reggie in her every step.Reggie's activities in other people's fearscapes just amazed me; I pictured every scene perfectly, and I reckon Simon Holt had many difficulties describing exactly what he was seeing, and yet he does it flawlessly and I feel like his imagined scenes are the exact replica of what I saw while reading this book.Quite a few questions left unanswered, and I missed Henry frequenting the story. Sometimes it didn't flow that well with the first book, especially since we have a few catchup paragraphs near the end of the book, when we're all used to seeing those few at the front. The ending was a twist and a half, although I knew something wasn't quite right, although I never guessed it. Similar to Quinn to be fair, but I wasn't that surprised. Another question flared up near the end.I hope the third book answers every question, as there doesn't seem to be a fourth. I'm begging Simon Holt to wrap up every question I have because I don't think my imagination can continue this story by itself!Roll-on the next book, it's now ready and waiting to be read! Book 2 picks up where book 1 left off and has Reggie and Aaron , bookstore owner/ex-tracker father figure Eben ,along with cutie crush magnet Quinn and a few other characters thrown in to keep you on your toes through the book. The book explains in greater details of some people's past, how some became who and what they are and some deaths that will surprise you.Just as good as the first installment.
